Angel Hair with Marinara

January 26, 2017

Angel hair with marinara is the simplest of pasta dishes. Completely customizable, you can add your favorite ingredients to make it your own.

  • Prep: 15 mins
  • Cook: 25 mins
  • Yields: 5 Servings

Ingredients

16 ounces Mueller’s® Angel Hair

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons finely chopped onion

2 large garlic cloves, chopped

3/4 cup dry white wine

1 (14-ounce) can peeled tomatoes, drained and chopped

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

1Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well and set aside.

2While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a medium non-stick saucepan, over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, or until soft.

3Add wine to pan, bringing to a boil over high heat. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until wine is reduced by half.

4Stir in tomatoes, basil, and parsley. Cook, stirring occasionally, 3 to 5 minutes, or until sauce thickens. Reduce heat to medium.

5Pour pasta and sauce into a warmed, large bowl and toss together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook’s tip: You can add just about any ingredient to a basic marinara to make it just right for your family – vegetables, meats, spices, herbs, or even leftovers!
