Italian Stew with Ground Beef combines all the ingredients in one pot, creating a hearty, family meal that couldn’t be easier to make!
2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, diced
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) petite diced tomatoes, not drained
2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
3 cups water
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
16 ounces Mueller’s® Ridged Jumbo Elbows
1In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, over medium high, cook ground beef and onion, stirring frequently, until beef is browned; drain excess fat. Return meat and onions to pan.
2Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
3Add uncooked pasta, cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
4Remove from heat and allow to rest, covered, for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Cook’s Tip: Add 3 cloves of garlic, minced or 1 teaspoon garlic powder when adding seasoning to increase the flavor.
