A warm and cozy chicken chowder with tender pasta in a creamy, comforting broth — hearty, soothing, and perfect for chilly days.
8 oz Anthony's® Small Shells
4 bacon
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1 inch cubes
0.50 cup onion, chopped
2 tbsp all purpose flour
5 cups milk
4 tsp chicken flavored bouillon
1 tsp dried basil leaves
0.25 tsp ground black pepper
1 can (11 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained
1Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain.
2Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp; remove and crumble. Drain, reserving 3 tablespoons drippings. Set aside.
3In same saucepan, add chicken and onion; cook and stir until chicken is tender.
4Stir in flour until smooth.
5Gradually stir in milk then bouillon, basil and pepper. Cook and stir until slightly thickened and bubbly.
6Stir in pasta, corn and bacon; heat through. Serve immediately.
