Cincinnati Chili

Anthony's Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Anthony's Spaghetti
  • 2 lb ground chuck
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 pkg (1 oz) chili seasoning mix
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 square (1 oz) unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Place ground chuck in a Dutch oven and cover with water. Bring to a boil and simmer until meat is browned, about 10 minutes; drain well in colander.
  2. While meat is draining, heat vegetable oil in the Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring frequently, until onion is tender. Return beef to Dutch oven. Stir in chili seasoning, cinnamon, salt, pepper, chocolate and vinegar. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes.
  3. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
  4. Place spaghetti on plate and top with chili; sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
